Developing key areas of the curriculum including
- Science: living things-plants and animals, environmental awareness and care.
- Geography: natural environments-the local natural environments.
- SPHE: myself and the wider world.
Teachers will have the opportunity to avail of refreshments on site. Picnic / Lunch areas for dry and rainy days are available.
Mellowes Adventure is located in an ideal rural country setting, in a safe and secure surrounding.
All children will receive a certificate from Mellowes Adventure.
You can book our facility for a three hour period; a minimum booking of ten children is required.There is a €10 fee per child, 4 group leaders/ teachers are free. Extra adults are €5.
Mellowes Adventure opening hours are 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday.
Yearly events that take place include Easter activities, Summer camp (July and August) Halloween Horrors and the Twelve days of Christmas.
Early booking is advised. Bookings are held for five working days and all deposits must have been received by then.
Some comments from recent School Tours to Mellowes
Perfect venue for tour for junior and senior infants. Really well organised and safe. Great variety of activities to suit everyone. Bouncy Castles, Playground and Pedal Cars a big hit. Lots to learn about animals and really good eco garden and planting. We could have stayed far longer. Our staff really appreciated lunch and the fact that they could relax and keep an eye on everyone at the same time. A really good value tour and also just the right distance from Dublin - we will definitely be back. Hopefully in the same kind of weather!

Excellent, excellent place for children. Plenty to do and very educational for the children and the parents will have a very relaxed day out also.
I would totally recommend anyone to pay Mellowes a visit. If it is raining or sunny an enjoyable day will be had by all. It is the first visit for our group and we will be back again. Staff very friendly. Parents loved the tea and coffee and home made brown bread. Plenty to do and a great variety. The children enjoyed their visit very much.

The children really enjoyed their school tour in Mellowes Farm. Both the pupils and teachers were made feel very welcome and were very well provided for. The leaders in the farm communicated very well with the children. We all had a great day.

Junior Infants had a truly enjoyable experience today. What a variety of activities. We had great weather so outdoors we enjoyed. Great leaders were friendly yet strict enough to ensure the little ones co operated. Teachers loved this venue as a school tour. We were treated to tea coffee and lovely brown bread. I sat in on Pauline’s Rain Forest presentation - she was excellent. Steven let the children explore in the garden and they enjoyed free play with Cathy. Well done everyone. What a fabulous facility on our doorsteps.

We are having a wonderful return visit for our annual school tour. Lots of activities all safely laid out with added amenities (marquee - to assist in case of inclement weather) The various bouncy castles, tree house, swings, sand tray, fish pond, eco garden, crazy golf, tropical rain forest, playground, go kart track etc., all complimented with beautifully hygienic toilet facilities with clean safe pathways. Pauline led the staff efficiently yet shows her experience in having all groups planned for in advance. Stephen and Cathy admirably hold their own when the groups rotate and everyone is happily absorbed / catered for, while we can assist / oversee from the sidelines. A terrific success for all to witness and only twenty five minutes from base.
