About Mellowes
Mellowes is a purpose built childcare facility located on one acre of fun. Established since 2004, we cater for children aged from 3 months to 12 years. We provide
the highest standard of care and believe learning should be fun. Children are encouraged to learn through their direct experience in an environment that is safe,
stimulating and provides a balance between a flexible and structured routine.
Our opening hours are 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday. The facility is open all year round with the exception of one week at Christmas, Bank Holidays and Good Friday.
We offer Full/Part Day Care, Montessori, Pre- School, Pre Montessori and Summer Camps. Our curriculum is reviewed on a regular basis.
We keep up to date with tried and tested methods of care and education both in Ireland and abroad. All relevant records are kept and inspected by the HSE,
such as Registration forms, Signing In and Out, Roll Books, Medication, Sleep charts, Request forms, Medical consent, Special care, Daily reports,
Accident/incident, Nappy changes, Fire drill and Policies and Procedures.
At Mellowes we believe that each child is unique and that all children deserve love, care and respect.We believe in equality for all, irrespective of gender, age,
race, religion, or disability. A warm, safe, colourful, bright and welcoming environment is what we provide, it is an environment which encourages children to
express themselves freely and encourages a love of learning.
At Mellowes we understand how important it is to establish good healthy eating practices from a very young age. Our menu is displayed in the facility,
it is varied and is both nutritious and balanced.Our cook takes great care preparing freshly cooked meals and snacks each day.

Staff
Each of our staff are qualified in childcare and/or Montessori, First Aid trained, Garda vetted and have a number of years experience.
We have monthly staff meetings to plan, prepare and organise for the best quality education curriculum.
Our staff keep a daily record on each child, which allow them to recognise a child’s individual needs.
The friendly atmosphere our staff bring to the facility is most important. Our staff are motivated, dedicated and committed to all the children in our care.
Our staff are encouraged to further their childcare qualifications and regular in house training is provided.
Cook

Mellowes was the first childcare service to introduce a fun healthy eating incentive programme for children. A feature on this appeared in our local Meath post newspaper.
The service holds a HACCP food safety certificate.
